Mens: 420 m Par 4
Ladies: 372 m Par 5

Welcome to the Mt Barker - Hahndorf Golf Course. The first hole is one of the longest and most challenging opening holes in golf …anywhere!
Drive it long between the two large gum trees and then you still have a tough shot to a medium size sloping green.

2nd Hole
Mens: 144 m Par 3
Ladies: 121 m Par 3

dsc00791This par three is protected, to some extent, by a creek from the tee. The backdrop of Mt Barker makes the view very scenic.

The green can have some testing pin placements particularly on the right hand side.

Another long challenging par 4, dog leg right. Keep your drive left of centre or the trees on the corner make the second shot far more difficult than it needs to be.

This triangular shaped green slopes away from the tee and is surrounded by protective moulds. The backdrop of Mt Barker is again a memorable view.

5th Hole
Mens: 482 m Par 5
Ladies: 384 m Par 5

Often into the prevailing wind this par 5 offers reward for the long hitter. The green is long, narrow and split level and the approach from the right is protected by gum trees in the creek. Not that difficult if you lay up short of the creek for two and can play an accurate shot in!

6th Hole
Mens: 459 m Par 5
Ladies: 436 m Par 5

Rip a long drive off the tee and try to get on for two, the green is straight down the hill. Beware of trees left and right and the OOB on the right. The water hazard is danger for any mishit second shot to the green. Play the hole more conservatively and the water is not such a threat.

7th Hole
Mens: 322 m Par 4
Ladies: 302 m Par 4

Two fairway bunkers define the line from the tee. These bunkers are awkward to get out of and reach the green. The green is the largest so far and the size and slope can make putting an extra test of your skill if you leave a long putt.

8th Hole
Mens: 280 m Par 4
Ladies: 245 m Par 4

Only a short par 4, it can be tempting to attack but be wary of the creek down the left hand side. Lay up to the corner and it is a straightforward shot into a split-level green.

9th Hole
Mens: 360 m Par 5
Ladies: 302 m Par 4
dsc00809Two completely different holes if played from the ‘tiger’ tee or the regular tee. The fairway is protected on the right by a dam and along the left by a small creek and trees. Once safely on the fairway the gap between the large tree on the left and the many trees on the right is not that wide. The green is one of the largest and has many testing positions.

10th Hole
Mens: 268 m Par 4
Ladies: 262 m Par 4
dsc00814Lay up short of the creek across the fairway is the safest option as there are many hazards in the air as well as the creek and the dam on the right. The elevated green is very testing, particularly if you are above the hole, not as easy as it looks.

11th Hole
Mens: 275 m Par 4
Ladies: 270 m Par 4
dsc008163Play a precision shot to the gap at the corner of this sharp right hand dogleg, left of centre is a more forgiving line to take. Too long or too short and the trees will protect the green left and right. The elevated green is not that easy to hit and stay on, as the ball seems to run off with a minimum effort.

Ladies: 147 m Par 3
dsc00813An attractive par 3 from an elevated tee that is set among some gum trees. This green is protected by bunkers left and right and some mounds at the front. The left hand bunkers are much deeper and more difficult to get up and down from!

13th Hole
Mens: 330 m Par 4
Ladies: 313 m Par 4
dsc00819This hole looks straightforward from the tee to the green in the distance. However, there are dangers left and right with water and trees. The green is protected by a bunker at the front and OOB is just to the right.

14th Hole
Mens: 330 m Par 4
Ladies: 315 m Par 4
The gnarled old gum on the left is not on the fairway. A precision shot down the middle to set up a clear shot to the green, which is protected by bunkers on the right and some mounding on the left.

15th Hole
Mens: 179 m Par 3
Ladies: 140 m Par 3
The longest par 3 on the course and if the wind is in your face, this hole will test the best golfers. The green has a testing slope so an uphill putt is preferred. The dam in front of the tee may give some golfers cause for concern.

16th Hole
Mens: 364 m Par 4
Ladies: 327 m Par 4
This hole requires an accurate tee shot to stay on the fairway which slopes right to left. Once that is achieved another accurate shot is required to negotiate the large bunker left and the smaller one on the right. The OOB fence beckons on the right so there are many hurdles to negotiate.

17th Hole
Mens: 345 m Par 4
Ladies: 340 m Par 4
Hit is to the corner or past if you have the length but be wary as the fairway narrows if you go too far. The green is just down the hill but the distance has to be spot on as the ball can easily stop or run over the back. Not as simple as it looks.

18th Hole
Mens: 320 m Par 4
Ladies: 285 m Par 4
The invitation is extended to drive long over the creek and set up a delicate short shot into the green but risk going into the water, or lay up on the ‘plateau’ short of the creek and play the longer shot in. The green is sloping and protected by a large bunker at the front left and smaller ones at the right and rear.
