History

Golf in the Adelaide Hills can be traced back to 1879 with the birth of the Mt Barker Club. Making it one of the oldest in the state. Similarly the Hahndorf Golf Club has an equally long history being established in 1892.

Both the Hahndorf and the Mt Barker clubs have had several homes over the years. The current course location was developed in the late 70’s with the club house being officially opened in 1980.

The two clubs merged in 2007 however ironically the two clubs had operated as a single entity early in the century for several years. The merger has given both clubs the chance to continue their long and illustrious histories together.

The history of both clubs is represented on the walls of the club room with the honour boards proudly on display.  The Mt Barker-Hahndorf Golf Club is the significant Adelaide Hills golf club serving one of the fastest growing residential and commercial areas in South Australia. More …
